The main differences between the different types of lift chairs is the number of positions and range of motion. Ultimately, all of the lift chairs help go from a lying down position to helping you stand all the way up.
A 3-position lift chair recliner puts you in an ideal position for napping, sitting upright and then helping you stand all the way. The infinite position lift chair is a recliner that allows you to move the backrest and footrest independently of each other allowing for maximum comfort. FInally, the trendelenburg enabled lift chair allows you to elevate your feet higher than your head to help promote improved blood circulation, reduce acid reflux and are also beneficial if you are suffering from specific injuries especially in your back.
These lift chair recliners are enabled by a touch of a few buttons allowing you to be easily adjust to the position that you are most comfortable at.
What’s the difference between a lift chair and other recliners?
Lift chairs and recliners look identical and it’s often difficult to tell the difference when you first look at them. However, unlike recliners you find at a furniture store, a lift chair is considered to be an approved Medical Device as they are built with the technology and safety features enabling one to go from a flat sleeping position to a standing position with a click of a button.
Lift chairs serve a lot of benefits to those who have trouble with sitting or standing independently. Lift chairs combine the features of all of the different types of recliners into one. Furniture recliners are usually not electric and motorized and they usually limit the number of positions you can go into.
Lift Chairs may also eligible for reimbursement through your private insurance plan and can be claimed as a tax deductible expense with a valid doctor’s note explaining why you need a lift chair. You get the style and comfort of a recliner with the added medical benefit all in one.
